CHARLOTTE MASON ELEMENTARY TUTORIAL
ADMISSIONS
Thank you for your interest in the Charlotte Mason Elementary Tutorial program! /
Whenever possible, we encourage families who are considering joining us at CMET to visit with us when classes are in session.
**Before submitting an application**
- Both parents should read Susan Schaeffer Macaulay’s book, For the Children’s Sake. Because CMET is a hybrid classroom-home based program, it is important that both tutors and parents understand both Mason’s educational philosophy and methods. Therefore, we do require that at least one parent attend an orientation seminar and that both parents read Susan Schaeffer Macaulay’s For the Children’s Sake. This book is available in several formats: print, ebook, and audio.
- At least one parent should attend the orientation seminar.
- Complete the application.
APPLICATION DETAILS:
(Please note the minimum age requirement for kindergarten is 5 years old when classes begin in August.)
Download an application packet here:
Please Note: Once you enter the required information, a link allowing you to download the application will appear in the bottom left corner of your screen. When you click on that link it will download to your computer. The application will not come by email.
This packet includes the following:
- Student & Family Information
- Student Recommendation forms to be filled out by two non-family references
- Parent Commitment form to be read and signed by parent(s)
Once the application has been submitted, wait for acceptance notification. Once we have received the completed application packet, our tutors will read/review each application. In some cases we may request an interview with both student and parent(s) before a final decision is made. In either case, we will notify you via email or phone of your acceptance-status.
Parents are also responsible for purchasing books and supplies for their students. Upon acceptance, parents should write checks to Francis Schaeffer Study Center.
Tuition may be paid in one check for the whole year or divided up into two, four, eight or ten payments. If you choose to break the payments up, you will need to submit them as post-dated checks (dated for the first of each month during the school year) by July 1.
(We then combine and forward the funds paid by parents to the tutors according the payment schedule indicated by parents.)
Back-to-School Meet and Greet – This is a time for new and returning families can meet their tutors and classmates. It usually occurs the week before classes begin in August, but check your email or the website for the actual date and time. We look forward to seeing you there!
